Monster Island, The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster was released at the same time that Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Monster Island, a fictional island on which a monster lives, is the story.


Asylum has the budget for a large kid's dinner and uses it well. It focuses on a few characters and keeps its big stars in one set, where they can record all sequences during lunch. The Asylum might not be too bad considering this is the (published here) kaiju-related genre.
